Our annual barbeque has been a regular event from the early days of the club and is a joint venture between the Chelmsford Folk Dancers and the Billericay Folk Dancers. It traditionally takes place on the first Tuesday in July. Originally it was held at Greenwoods in Stock later moving to a venue at the St. Johns Hospital. The concept being that it should be an open air event, but an indoor venue had to be made available in case of rain. Currently it is only held indoors at the St Michael’s School in Galleywood, and the name changed to our Picnic Summer Dance.
